Arrival

The Villa will be available for you from 3pm.
Late arrivals – we will arrange your pick up and for someone to see you into the villa.

Departure

Please vacate the villa by 12 noon. We will let you stay on longer if we can !!

Beaches

There are some really super beaches and secret coves to explore on the Bodrum peninsula. Bitez beach just 5 minutes away from the villa is perfect for families and watersports enthusiasts.

Boat Hire

This is a total must. Charter your own Gulet and with the Captain and Crew go and explore the coastline – They offer a fixed price including lunch and a whole day out. Set off is 10-10.30 arriving back at 6.30 just in time for a sun downer on the beach.

Building

No major construction is allowed during the summer season. However decorating and some minor work is allowed

Car Rental and getting around

You have lots of options: We have a driver who will pick you up in a Mercedes Vito from the airport and drive you to the Villa (fixed price applies – please pay driver directly)

Rent a car from the airport if you want a car to explore the peninsula on a daily basis with an average cost of around £20 per day. You can also hire a car when you need it locally – we use Almira Car Hire 00 90 252 316 93 76 talk to Adem Ozdel – he will arrange pick up near the villa.

If you just want to take short hops to the supermarket, beach, Bodrum and the odd day out, the best option is to use taxi’s –they are cheaper than car hire and available when you want - plus you don’t have to negotiate the Turkish driving!

Consult your doctor ,health centre or travel company for latest recommendations.

Insurance

All party members including children must be adequately insured on holiday. This is a condition of booking with us.

 

Kids Stuff

More of a case of what first - great safe beaches, watersports at the beach club – sailing and small windsurfers – tennis courts with a resident tennis coach –fishing, boat trips waterskiing, snorkelling, donuts. Bodrum castle exploring the ruins. The amphitheatre and concerts. A total must is Turkish night at the Ambroser Hotel (Usually Monday night – book a table and enjoy the extensive buffet and entertainment – they even have break dancers which the kids love !!!!!)

Meal Arrangements/Partying

Eating out is a real joy as there are lots of restaurants to choose from on Bitez Beach, some of our favourites are listed below – but they are all generally good.

New Seasons – Great Turkish & International food , Great staff and a fun atmosphere – they will also give you a lift home.

Vona – great beach side seating great view of the sun going down – good food again ask for a lift home

Adali – open air restaurant well worth a visit very children friendly ,lovely staff and again will take you home.

Black Cat - in the shopping alleys – prepares fixed dishes of the day all Turkish – freshly cooked

La Vas – cheap and cheerful – great Turkish pizza and salads

Seashells – fun Turkish restaurant with resident “Pop Star” singing some nights.

Salamakis – A good spot on the beach – We use during the day for snacks and drinks – the sea is just great here and the staff lovely – tell charla you know us.

Bodrum

Again there are fabulous restaurants in Bodrum – the best ones in the alley’s opening out on to the sea. Sea food is great and some of the hidden kebab houses are good too.
There is great nightlife in Bodrum and you can party until the early hours . . . .
Other places worth a visit Golturkbuka ,Yali and Turgetreis.

Eating in

You will need to get stocked up after arrival – we can arrange for you to be taken to the supermarket whenever you wish.

Bitez village has all that you need throughout your stay – on a Thursday there is a pazaar when local farmers bring their produce to market – well worth a visit – the peaches are to die for !!!

There is a BBQ at your disposal – please make sure it is fully out when going to bed or leaving the premises.

There are also a number of take away’s which deliver – find the menu’s in your apartment.

Money

New Turkish lira is the currency currently 2.5tl to the £1.00.

It is wise to bring a small amount with you to pay for taxi’s etc on arrival. However when in Bodrum there are plenty of cash points and all shops restaurants etc take credit /debit cards so there is no need to carry large amounts of cash.

Passports and Visas

Usually you need a full term passport with at least six months on it for travel to Turkey.
Visas are issued on arrival at a charge of £10 sterling per person (So be sure to carry some cash with you.)

Paying for your holiday

A 20% deposit is payable on booking. The balance is due eight weeks before departure. We take a £200 security deposit which is refundable( subject to villa inspection)on your return.

Safety

Health and Hygiene – please be vigilant – only eat in Proper restaurants and do not buy food off street vendors. Use bottled water and even use to brush your teeth.

Swimming pool – There is no lifeguard at the villa and children must be supervised at all times as there is no shallow end. The surfaces on the balconies and pool surround can get very slippy when wet – please avoid running and use the squigys provided for excess water.

For minor ailments the Chemists in Turkey are very good – for all other problems visit the Bodrum Universal Hospital – Doctors do speak English.

Shopping

Bitez has some lovely trinket shops and the usual textile and holiday stores.

Bodrum is a fun shopping centre with great leather items, pottery clothes shoes and textiles
The Oasis Centre – An upmarket shopping precinct with quality shops and some great eating places

Special needs

The villa apartments are accessed via a number of steps as you will see from the pictures and regretably not suitable for the infirm.

Transfers

We organise these for you at a fixed price – payable to your driver 24 hour service available.

Villa Apartment details

The villas are self catering and we have taken great pride in fitting out with all the kit you need – with fab furnishings to make it feel like your home in the sun.

Cleaning and maid service – The villa will be clean on your arrival and the maid will come in once a week to freshen the place up – Linen and towels will be changed once a week – if you need replacements let the caretakers know. We have a cot if you need it let us know.

We can arrange for the basics to be there for your arrival – please let us know if you would like a welcome pack – which we will charged for accordingly

Heating and Air Conditioning We have planned for moderate use of the Air Conditioning Whilst you are in the apartment during the hottest periods of the day and cooling rooms before use approx 4hours per day – however if you leave the air conditioning on when out or all night for example we will have to levy a excess charge based on the apartments meter reading.

Linen and towels for use within the apartment are provided – however you need beach and pool towels.

Swimming Pool – we respectfully request a good pool etiquette and that you shower off suntan oil , sand and salt water before entering the pool

Water, Gas, Electricity – we sometimes encounter sudden power cuts – we provide candles and lights in this event . Cooking is not affected as powered by bottled gas. We have our own water supply but request that no paper on sanitary products are flushed – please use the bins provided.

Watersports – they are great – you name it, it is available on bitez beach or you can go over to the beach club. Bitez is very well known for its windsurfing so a great place to learn.

Wildlife

We are in a semi rural area you may see or hear indigenous wildlife ie frogs , turtles in some cases snakes and scorpions – please take care and deal with caution should in the very rare event you come across any of these.
